SDCN nomineret til international sundhedspris

Steno Diabetes Center Nordjylland er nomineret til den internationale Value-Based Health Care (VBHC) Prize 2026 med det digitale værktøj DiaProfil.

Udviklet i tæt samarbejde med patienter

DiaProfil er en datadrevet løsning, der er udviklet i tæt samarbejde med personer med diabetes. Værktøjet understøtter dialogen mellem patient og behandler ved systematisk at identificere og adressere psykosociale behov i livet med diabetes – behov som ofte overses i den kliniske praksis.

Bedre livskvalitet og mere effektiv behandling

Målet er at skabe bedre livskvalitet for den enkelte patient og samtidig sikre en mere effektiv anvendelse af sundhedsvæsenets ressourcer.
– Nomineringen alene er en kæmpestor international anerkendelse af vores arbejde med DiaProfil. Mennesker med diabetes har fortalt os, hvad der er vigtigt, og det har gjort det muligt at handle på de psykosociale behov, der ofte overses i behandlingen. Når vi arbejder patientcentreret og datadrevet, kan vi både forbedre livskvalitet og reducere omkostninger – og det er netop kernen i value-based healthcare, siger Niels Ejskjær, klinisk professor og projektansvarlig.

International anerkendelse og mulighed for at stemme

Vinderen kåres den 13. maj 2026 i Amsterdam, hvor de nominerede projekter præsenteres for et internationalt publikum.

Udover hovedprisen konkurrerer DiaProfil også om VBHC Prize Community Award, hvor alle kan stemme.

DiaProfil among the world’s top 16 value-based healthcare initiatives

Steno Diabetes Center North Denmark has been nominated for the international Value-Based Health Care (VBHC) Prize 2026 with its digital solution, DiaProfil.

Co-created with patients

DiaProfil is a data-driven tool co-created with people living with diabetes. It supports patient–clinician dialogue by systematically identifying and addressing psycho-social needs in diabetes care—needs that are often overlooked in clinical practice.

Improving quality of life and resource use

The aim is to improve quality of life for patients while ensuring more efficient use of healthcare resources.
– The nomination alone is a great international recognition of our work with DiaProfil. People with diabetes have told us what matters most, enabling us to act on psycho-social needs that are often overlooked. By working both patient-centred and data-driven, we can improve quality of life while reducing costs – which is the essence of value-based healthcare, says Niels Ejskjær, Clinical Professor and Project Lead.

International recognition and public voting

The winner will be announced on May 13, 2026, in Amsterdam, where the nominees will present their projects to an international audience.

In addition to the main prize, DiaProfil is also competing for the VBHC Prize Community Award, where public voting plays a key role.
